I haven’t spoken of the wonderful children of Playa Grande, Honduras in my blog.  I spent a little time there this summer with my brother and neice.

What a curious trip.  Despite terribly hot weather, dusty conditions, a language barrier, lack of privacy, unusual food, animals everywhere, and extreme poverty, we found the children of Playa Grande to be extraordinarily beautiful.  They exude kindness and generosity…and joy!  They have nothing in the physical sense of the word, but they are happy without distraction.

I’m looking forward to returning there, perhaps in early 2010.
