Do You Remember Mark Heard?
August 21, 2008 at 12:57 pm | In Faith, Mark Heard, Paul Washer, Truth | 3 CommentsFrom the liner notes on Mark’s album “Eye of the Storm”:
If one delves more deeply into matters undergirding. . .belief, it can serve to strengthen that belief. If Christianity is truth, we should dig more deeply in matters relating to that truth, such as history, philosophy, archaeology, or dealing with evolution. We shouldn’t go around saying things that resemble greeting card slogans and expect the roots of our faith to grow very deep. If we are basing our faith on our own feelings about God, or our perceptions on the way things seem to be to us, and our message to the world becomes, “well, Jesus changed my life”, then I believe our Christianity is incomplete and brought to the same level for caricatured media competition as every other existentialist theist. If our faith doesn’t involve our mental processes as well as our hearts, then we aren’t going to have anything to say to people because whatever we say will be disconnected from objectivity, and will be perceived as mere opinion.
I just love that line, “We shouldn’t go around saying things that resemble greeting card slogans and expect the roots of our faith to grow very deep.” It reminds me of Paul Washer’s statement that most Christians today get their theology from the backs of tee shirts.
I think Mark had it right, but I would clarify just a little. Our faith must involve our mental processes because that is where we interpret Scripture. And both our minds and hearts – corrupted by sin – have the power of deceiving us, so we must submit both to the truth of the word of God.

I would ask you a simple question: How has your attack on Mr. Washer served to glorify God? May I charitably observe that searching the blogs daily to find new mentions of Paul Washer so you can repost your indictments against him does no damage to Washer and brings reproach to our Savior.
Let’s leave it at this: If you have a cogent argument to make against Paul Washer, please feel free. I won’t repost anything else you say unless it includes specifics regarding 1) what Biblical teaching has been violated, 2) when and where it was violated (proof, essentially), and 3) your documentation that you have followed the process outlined in Matthew 18 and taken this matter to Washer and his church first.
I am beginning to regret allowing your reply, but since I get very little traffic it really isn’t an issue.
I look forward to seeing your reply.

Hello Mossy, my reply with @@, Dennis

@@ The only reason of this message is my wish to warn my brothers and sisters in Christ. I am convinced of this protest, and the least it does is that it gives material to compare Paul Washer with instead of the continued comparison between Paul Washer with Paul Washer and his fans, leading always to a great preacher and great radical christians. The Glory of God was shown in the Reformation, if Paul Washer does not speak according to the Gospel of the Reformation, he is a false teacher.
May I charitably observe that searching the blogs daily to find new mentions of Paul Washer so you can repost your indictments against him does no damage to Washer and brings reproach to our Savior.
@@ Sir, please listen again to the 10 indictment-message which has been PUBLICLY put out by Paul Washer. In it 10 fruits are mentioned for everyone in the USA to hear about the reproach these churches (including that of Washer) bring to the Lord Jesus Christ, as if those who for years have taken the Name of the Lord in their mouths at the end dont know God and dont know the Gospel. A clear situation of gnat and elephant, Sir !
Let’s leave it at this: If you have a cogent argument to make against Paul Washer, please feel free.

@@ Paul Washer has already been warned extensively through the site Heartcrymissionary.com. An example of my proof I will give after this message.
I am beginning to regret allowing your reply, but since I get very little traffic it really isn’t an issue.
@@ If you would know the old paths, you would not say this !
I look forward to seeing your reply.
